Elevation Certificates
An Elevation Certificate is a form issued by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to estimate the risk premium rates necessary to provide flood insurance for new or substantially improved structures in designated Special Flood Hazard Areas.
Depending on the location of your property, you may be required to obtain an elevation certificate to obtain flood insurance and/or to reduce the cost of your flood insurance. Some local city/county jurisdictions require an elevation certificate before permits are awarded for development. An elevation certificate may include the base flood elevation of your property and other elevation data concerning your property or the improvements located on your property.
